Aachen, 9/5. During the press conference, held in the afternoon at the Vicariate of the Aachen Diocese, Andrea Riccardi illustrated the reasons and the guiding lines of the International Meeting that will take place from September 7th to September 9th.
The Meeting - he said - takes place in a tricky moment for the religious worlds, when dialogue cannot be taken for granted both among Christians and among different religions.
The next days represent an act of trust in
dialogue as an instrument of peace.
Many round tables will be devoted to Europe, to its spiritual roots and to the role that it can play.
The Community's interest for Africa, to which some round tables are dedicated, expresses the need to "care for the others' salvation". Particularly interesting is the attempt to involve non-believers in dialogue, with the perspective of fostering a wide confrontation among different traditions.
