Pablo is a Porto Rican man. He was just 18 when he was accused of a murder for robbery, in 1994. The eye-witness, who survived to the assault, gave a portrayal of the killer that did not looked like him roughly entirely.
At that time, Pablo was addicted to little drug smuggling inside a gang of boys like him.
Some of them were also suspected as authors of the crime, but they witnessed against him to escape the conviction, managing to make him appear as the only responsible of the killing. Pablo’s lawyers did not be able to overturn his position, despite the survivor’s declarations.
Pablo has always proclaimed himself innocent. His execution is dreadfully set on March, 16th 2005.

to save the life of Pablo Melendez,
sentenced to death
Your Excellencies
I am writing to express my deep concern over a ruling that sentenced to death Mr. Pablo Melendez, even though he was exculpated by an eye-witness and despite inadequate and inexperienced lawyers attending to the trial.
I urge you to intervene on his behalf to prevent this cruel and inhuman punishment from being meted out against him
I implore you to ensure that this cruel and inhuman sentence is not carried out.
