His
story
Robert
is 47 years old. He is a man of humble origins. It is 8 years by now
since he is jailed in the death row of Livingston, Texas. He is
charged with a murder he has repeatedly declared he never committed.
After his detain, his family dissolved. His wife parted from him,
while two of his three sons are now in jail for drug smuggling. His
execution date is sadly very close: November 4th 2004. He says he is
waiting for that day as a liberation from a detention which has
become so hard to bear to him, by now.
The
appeal to save Robert
The
Community of Sant'Egidio invites everybody to share its appeal
aiming to spare Robert's life from the execution, sending the
following statement to the competent authorities of Texas by fax or
e-mail.
Urgent
appeal brought in by the Community of Sant'Egidio to save the life of Robert
Morrow, sentenced to death
Dear
Governor
Your
Excellencies
I
am writing to express my deep concern over a ruling that sentenced to death
Mr. Robert Morrow, even though he had always been strongly asserting his
innocence. I urge you to intervene on his behalf to prevent this cruel and
inhuman punishment from being meted out against him. I implore you to ensure
that this cruel and inhuman sentence is not carried out.
Respectfully Yours
