On 11 November the ship Jolly Turchese with the material to build the first laboratory of molecular biology in the Central Hospital of Maputo left Genova. It is an important step of the project of AIDS fight.

This new type of laboratory of molecular biology, the first in Mozambique, will make possible the analyses which are necessary at the beginning of the therapy of AIDS treatment for the HIV-positive pregnant women and for their children.

This is an important step inside the Community's project and it will make possible diagnoses and the start of the treatment in a short time.

The ship will arrive in nearly four weeks. The laboratory will immediately be installed in the hospital. The clinical activity will begin at the beginning of the new year.
