Liturgy in Memory of Modesta
On Sunday 3 February at 12.30 a.m., in the basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, a liturgy will be celebrated in memory of Modesta, a homeless woman, who died in 1983 without receiving any assistance. With her, the Community makes memory of all the people who live and died on the streets, so that nobody of them be forgotten.

Every year the Community of Sant'Egidio celebrates a liturgy in memory of Modesta - and of all those who die on the streets - in Rome and in other towns. 

In the prayers we remember everyone, pronouncing the names of people who the Community has encountered during the years.
