The agreement for The Cessation of the Hostilities
among the Government of Uganda and the Lord Resistance Army
has been signed on August 26th in Juba, South Sudan.

After almost 20 years of terrible conflict that has tormented the North Uganda, with over 100.000 victims and 1,7 million people in refugee camps , in Juba has been signed an Agreement for the Cessation of the Hostilities among the Government of Uganda and the Lord Resistance Army.

This breakthrough is the result of more than 2 months of a mediation work toward a comprehensive peace agreement. The mediation of the Juba Peace Talks is chaired by the vice president of the GoSS, Riek Machar, with the Community of Sant'Egidio.
