The "Dream" program to treat people with HIV infections and prevent new transmission of AIDS in Mozambique promoted by the St. Egidio Commission in collaboration with Farmindustria, has the support of the Italian government. "These are tragic times that are characterized by death and destruction, but there are people dedicating themselves to saving people, such as Dream. The Italian government is committed to strongly supporting it", said Cabinet Presidency Undersecretary Gianni Letta while taking part in a conference in Rome. "Dream is tied to the Italian government initiative from the G8 conference, when painful events removed the possibility of concrete results - added Letta - but every G8 country's commitment to fight AIDS in Africa has been enormous and with the UN each nation nominated a representative. For Italy, that is Michelini. The St. Egidio community commitment goes beyond mere aid to the sick, it offers involvement, dialogue, and therapeutic treatments to restore hope and trust to patients".
