Rome -Christmas S. Egidio distributes 11.000 meals to homeless
Rome, Italy. Dec. 26 - Sant'Egidio distributed 11 thousand meals to senior citizens and homeless persons on Xmas night. Just as many were distributed at lunchtime on the 25th. All were handed the same handy gifts: scarves, hats and shoes: some 25 thousand gifts were handed out. In Rome alone 6 thousand persons were given shelter. Spokesman Mario Marazziti said that in Rome some 24 shelters had been set up on Xmas night and day.
