SANT� EGIDIO HOLDS SUMMER PICNIC FOR THE CHILDREN

The Community of Sant� Egidio one of the Roman Catholic Lay Apostolate has organized and started implementing the Summer holiday picnics for the Children.

The Children who are having picnics are some of the children which the members of the community voluntarily teach in what the community calls �The Schools of Peace�. Most of these kids are from poor families which could not manage to bring the kids to the Lake to have fun and enjoy the summer breeze.

The Community Of Sant� Egidio one of the Roman Catholic Lay Apostolate has organized and started implementing the Summer holiday picnics for the Children.

The Picnics have been funded through the contributions from all the Community members who have strongly been touched by Sant� Egidio�s principles that encourages the spirit of helping the poor. The Community of sant� Egidio strongly believe that there is no one who is so poor that he or she can not help another one who is poorer.

The community is governed by its fundamental principles of prayer, gospel, peace, friendship, ecumenism and service to the poor which some have unsuccessfully tried to end.
