On the occasion of the visit of Marco Impagliazzo ito Côte d’Ivoire the Communities of Sant'Egidio of the Centre and East of the country joined in Yamoussoukro, in the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Paix and those of the capital in Abidjan, at the House of the Community.

The Community of M'Batto, hit by the recent road accident in which nine young men died, also participated in the meeting in Abidjan.
A special visit was made to the School of Peace of the great slums of Boribana, among the poorest in Abidjan. The children who attend the school of peace are 125 while another 200 were registered at the Civil Registry with the BRAVO programme.

Many families of Boribana find support and friendship in the Community. A significant meeting took place with the street children of Abidjan, who are welcomed to the home of the Community where they can wash themselves, change their clothes and eat. The boys were listened to about their needs and were asked to protect and love the elderly that are alone and abandoned in the city.

The visit of Marco Impagliazzo also provided the chance  to meet the religious leaders of Koumassiche who, during the Civil War, cooperated with Sant'Egidio for reconciliation and peace.
