penalty asked for Chinese in murder trial
Prosecutors
on Friday asked for the death penalty for a 28-year-old Chinese on trial
at Saitama District Court for allegedly murdering a Chinese couple in
September last year in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture.
The
defendant, Shi Song, a former graduate student at Tsukuba University, was
charged with stabbing to death the couple - Xu Xin, a 29-year-old graduate
student at Tsukuba University, and her husband Gu Jingqi, a 39-year-old
company employee - in a parking lot outside their apartment building on
Sept 22 last year.
