Judge Criticizes Death Penalty Former Arizona Court of Appeals Judge
Rudolph J. Gerber expressed his concerns about the about the death
penalty in a recent article in the Arizona Law Review. Gerber, who
spent over 25 years as a prosecutor and judge, wrote: "For
those who do not or cannot address the moral issues, there remain
the disturbing facts . . . that our capital punishment falls
disproportionately on minorities . . . and sweeps some innocent
defendants. . . in its wide nets. . . ."
