Three men executed by Firing Squad

SAN'A, Yemen - Three Yemenis were executed by firing squad in San'a for their roles in separate murders, the public prosecutor's office said Monday. Muhammad Hussein Ahmed al-Ariqi was executed Monday for the murder of Hamda Murshid Tahir al-Hamdani. On Sunday, Abdel Karim Muhammad Alwan was executed for the murder of Amin Hussein Abdullah. Yahia Seif Ahmed Muhammad was put to death the same day for the murder of Yahia Abdullah Saeed. It wasn't clear when the three were convicted, nor when the killings took place. Yemen, an impoverished country at the southern corner of the Arabian peninsula, imposes the death penalty for rape and murder convictions.
