Yemen-Executions SAN`A, Yemen - Two Yemeni men convicted in separate murders have been executed by firing squad, the prosecutor general's office said Monday. Ali Saad Ahmed was executed Sunday in Dhamar province, 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of the capital San`a, for the murder of a fellow Yemeni, Yahya Mohammed Ali.

On Saturday, a firing squad executed Mansour Saif al-Harsami in Ibb, located 190 kilometers (120 miles) south of San`a, for the murder of Mariam Mohammed al-Baadani, also from Yemen. The prosecutor general's office provided no further information on the crimes. Yemen imposes the death penalty for rape and murder.
