"Death Row USA" Summer 2002 NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund's latest "Death Row USA" is now available on DPIC's Web site. The report states that as of July 1, 2002, the overall number of inmates on death rows across is 3,718. Although this represents a small increase since LDF's April 1 report, the size of death row is still smaller than in LDF's report of January 1, 2001. The report indicates that in 58% of the jurisdictions the number of death row inmates either decreased or remained the same since this time last year.
