The artist, who is deaf mute, gave carefully typed instructions on the colours, shapes and perfumes to mix into tints. Micaela dreams of a perfumed city, not the one she sees - and can smell - from her home on the northern outskirts of Rome: "I gaze on stinking pillars, squares and streets.I want a beautifully smelling city".
