Two or more infections, which
emerge at the same time in the same individual.

Opportunistic infections:
Infections, which emerge in
patients with weakened immune defences (as happens with those who
have AIDS), whose causes are microorganisms normally harmless to
individuals with a healthy immune system.

Pandemic:
An epidemic, which is
widespread all over the world or an infection expanding rapidly from
one country to another.
Immunodeficiency syndrome:
Immunodeficiency syndromes
are characterized by a higher susceptibility to infections because
of a decreased activity of the immune system. AIDS (Acquired
Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is caused by the HIV virus, which
progressively destroys the immune system.

Addition of food to the
normal daily diet.
Antiretroviral therapy:
Pharmacological therapy
against infections caused by viruses of the retrovirus group (HIV
virus belongs to the retrovirus group).
Iatrogenic transmission:
The transmission of a disease
from an individual to another through the use of inadequately
sterilized medical tools (syringes, lancets, etc.).
