DREAM programme
to Treat AIDS in Africa

18/6/2005

Arusha, Tanzania:
a new centrE for the Programme DREAM

Usa-River, in the rural area, in Northern Tanzania, some miles away from Arusha and from  the tourist circuit of the great natural reserves.

Along the way that leads to the international airport Kilimangiaro, a small sign indicates a new hope for this region.

By following it, one gets to a home immerse into a thick vegetation, where only a month ago, a new DREAM centre to treat AIDS has been opened.

This new  "centre of health" has been treating already more than 140 patients and is a sign of hope for all the region.

Here the HIV prevalence is around 12%.

After Iringa, Arusha represents the second DREAM centre in Tanzania. Yet new places have been chosen to open new centres. That is why in the month of August, in Arusha, will be held the next training course for doctors, nurses, health workers, coordinators and computer operators who will study and then copy the DREAM model.
