General Secretary of the Inter-religious Summit of Prayer of Hiei Mountain in 1987. He chaired the Tendai section of Japanese Buddhism. At present, he is the General Secretary of the Japanese Committee at the World Conference on Religions and Peace, an inter-religious and inter-confessional organization, acting in critical situations in several parts of the world, through dialogue with the representatives of different religions. Recently, he was appointed President of the International Permanent Committee of Disarm and Security of this World Conference. The Committee also operates through dialogue between the leaders of different religions and experts of the sector. |
