Following the brutal killing of 21 Coptic Christians that took place last week in Libya, the founder of the Community of Sant'Egidio sent a message of condolence to the Coptic Patriarch of Alexandria Tawadros II, who responded with a letter full of affection and gratitude, for its closeness and sympathy.

"His message - wrote the patriarch - gave us comfort, knowing that we are in your thoughts and in your prayers".
