It is two months since January 12th, when a very strong earthquake has destroyed Haiti. The country, already very poor, is in shambles, the victimes are hundreds of thousands.
For the Community of Sant'Egidio these two months have been a time of renewed commitment in solidarity and support.
These images show the first meeting of the Communities of Sant'Egidio in Haiti after the earhquake. Attending the meeting also a delegation from Italy, led by the President of the Community, Marco Impagliazzo and other delegations from Salvador and Cuba.

The meeting and the liturgy that was celebrated together, are the source of strength so to be able to continue to work against the terrible evil that has befallen on the country.
The commitment of the Communities of Haiti has been especially intense and it has been supported with love by the others communities all over the world.
Some old people whose houses had been destsroyed by the quake partcipated to the celebration as well.
