Three containers containing shoes and clothes are going to be shipped from the Livorno and Genova (Italy) harbours to Haiti on 29th June, 1st and 2nd July. Another one containing clothes, children shoes and adult diapers, will be sent out from the “Città Eco-solidale” (Sant’Egidio recycling point for brand new and second hands goods) in Rome next 8th of July.
Thanks to the customs for freight of Genova and Livorno, two containers will be shipped to El Salvador and Guatemala that have been affected by the tropical storm “Agatha” last month. There are still thousands people leaving in public schools and temporary camps.
It is a very relevant amount of goods sent thanks to the Italian Minister of Foreign Affair, which covered all the transport expenses. Just to have some figures, among the goods shipped they can be counted: 45,000 summer trousers, 14,000 women dresses, 6,200 trainers, 18,000 flip flops, 6,000 shirts and t-shirts for children, 8,000 shorts for children, 6,000 adult diapers, 22,000 trousers for men and 44,000 summer shoes for women. |
