Pope Benedict XVI, at the end of today's general audience in St. Peter greeted the bishops who gathered in Rome for a conference entitled "Christians and pastors for the Church of tomorrow" with the Community of Sant'Egidio. The pope's words:
Dear friends, I am pleased to welcome the Bishops taking part in the conference "Christians and pastors for the Church of tomorrow," promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio, coinciding with the anniversary of its founding. Welcome! I wish you, dear Brothers, and all the members of this community to revive faith in the Lord and to testify with renewed enthusiasm evangelical charity, especially for the weak and the poor.
The Pope went on turning his greeting to the other participants in the audience, the Friars Minor Conventual, the Italian-speaking pilgrims, the young, the sick and newlyweds. |
