GRAZIATI DUE CONDANNATI A MORTE IN UZBEKISTAN 14/05/02 Uzbekistan - Nel settembre del 2001 a Taskent, Andre ANENKON e Valerii AGABEKOV di 26 e 24 anni, sono stati accusati di omicidio e condannati a morte. Il 10 maggio 2002 sono stati fatti uscire dalla cella del braccio della morte e sono stati trasferiti nella prigione della citt� di ANDIJAN. La loro pena � stata ridotta a 12 anni di reclusione. La sera del 10 maggio la madre di Valerii AGABENON, NADEJDA, li ha potuti incontrare alla stazione, prima del loro trasferimento, felici perch� hanno ancora tutta la vita davanti. La signora Tamara Chikunova, dell'associazione "Mothers Against the Death Penalty" ci ha trasmesso la sua felicit� e soddisfazione perch� il suo lavoro per difendere la vita dei due giovani � approdato ad un importante successo.
THE DEATH SENTENCE FOR 2 YOUNG MEN WAS COMMUTED INTO 12 YEARS SENTENCE, THANKS TO THE INTERVENTION OF THE ASSOCIATION "MOTHERS AGAINST DEATH PENALTY Uzbekistan 14/05/02 Mrs. Tamara Chicunova, the Coordinator of the Association "MOTHERS AGAINST DEATH PENALTY�, who at present is in Rome, (as a guest of the Community of Sant�Egidio, just after the meeting for the foundation of the World Coalition against death penalty�), has communicated that in Tashkent Andre ANENKON, 26, Valerii AGABEKOV, 24, (who were convicted for murder and sentenced to death in September 2001) got a commutation of the capital sentence into 12 years-prison.. The Association had launched an appeal to the Government in order to obtain an act of clemency. |
