Tokyo homeless man gets death penalty for killing 3

The Tokyo District Court handed down the death sentence Tuesday to Yoshio Ando, a homeless man, for murdering 3 other homeless men in Tokyo in 1999.

According to the ruling, Ando stabbed a 60-year-old man to death in September 1999 along the banks of the Arakawa River in Edogawa Ward after quarreling with him there. He subsequently killed 2 other homeless men the same day and threw the 3 bodies into the river.
