PAKISTAN: President stays execution of four prisoners on death row

President General Pervez Musharraf has issued orders for suspension of implementation on death sentence awarded to 4 accused detained in Mianwali jail.

According to details 3 brothers Khurshid, Waheed and Saeed son of Abdul Hamid hailing from Fareed Kot area of Sargodha were to be executed on March 30 (Tuesday) but few hours before their execution their relatives appealed to President for suspension of the death sentence due to agreement reached between the parties involved in the case.

President Musharraf in view of the agreement issued orders for staying the execution for one month. Meanwhile, President also deferred implementation on death sentence awarded to another accused named Hafiz Najeebullah resident of Tehisl Issa Khel.
