Friendship with mentally disabled people living in institutions

In several western countries many mentally disabled people happen to live in institutions. 

We, who take part in "The Friends" movement, have been visiting some of them for years and we became their friends.

Really friendship is important and beautiful to experience. As our Charter says: "we can all be friends!
To anyone who is alone...who is sad, who is excluded, we can say: my friend, you are important!

With our visits and parties we can make a break in their days that are always the same. And everyone of us is less alone and much happier.

We believe that even those who live in institutions can help other people and help us in our initiatives. Many people joined our campaign for the moratorium on the death penalty and our collection for the victims of the earthquake in Salvador.
