Food aid
Just 6 euro per month can guarantee a daily food supplement (rice and fresh vegetables) for a detainee
Medical support
The sum of 20 euro will buy a case of 100 bars of soap allowing 100 inmates to wash for a month. 60 euro a month will suffice to ensure the purchase of basic medicine and to pay a doctor for making a weekly prison round.
Legal assistance
50 euro will buy legal representation for a prisoner awaiting trial: this includes a series of suits ranging from the recovery of the file of the accused – which is often kept at the arresting police station – to fees for a lawyer, without whom a fair trial becomes an impossible goal.
Free the prisoners
A sum which varies between 200 and 500 euro from one country to another, will free detainees arrested for minor offences and who have served out their custodial sentences, but who remain in prison because they lack the funds to pay off their fines.
