The
Schools of Peace for Young Children
Many
"at-risk" children attend our centres in Europe, Latin America,
Asia and Africa. The risks can be many: deviancy, social marginalisation,
academic failure and truancy, illiteracy, child labour, carelessness and
even abandonment by their families. The very frailty of their families and
their surroundings often prevents these children from overcoming these
risks unharmed. This is where the work of our People's Schools comes in;
we solidly and faithfully support the children's growth.
In their educational activities, the Schools of Peace have these goals:
|
Remedial education |
|
Prevention of deviancy |
|
Socialisation |
|
Tutoring for children with specific difficulties (learning disabilities,
behaviour disorders) |
|
Integration
of minors with different cultural backgrounds |
|
Health education (accident prevention, dietary education, hygiene) |
|
Emotional support |
|
Religious
education |
|
Fostering of socially conscious and globally aware thinking |
|
Greater
awareness of peace |
|
Nutrition (wherever necessary) |
