From Palermo to Africa:
the Palermo Appeal is Presented Again in Peace Meetings in some African Cities

While the Interreligious Meeting of Prayer for Peace was taking place in Palermo, from September 1st to September 3rd, meetings in the same spirit were taking place in Africa, in particular in Bangui, in the Republic of Central Africa, and in Pointe Noire, in Brazzaville Congo.

From 1 to 3 September, some African cities joined the International Meeting "Religions and Cultures between Conflict and Dialogue", which took place in Palermo, by organising special moments of meeting and prayer for peace.

In Bangui, in Central Africa, a meting took place on the subject of reconciliation in times of conflict. People from Central Africa and from Ciad participated in the meeting, to show the urgent need of peace in a period when the relation between the two countries are strained and caused gunfights at the borders.

In Pointe Noire, in Brazzaville Congo, meeting, conferences and a final prayer for peace took place from 1 to 3 September.
