He completed his studies in sociology of religion and theology, and then he has carried out his pastoral ministry in Benin and Ivory Coast. He was General Secretary of the Regional Episcopal Conference of Francophone West Africa and of the Association of the Episcopal Conferences of Anglophone West Africa (A.E.C.A.W.A.). He is Consultor of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. He was a member of the International Theological Commission. He is Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture since 2009.
