Numerosi incontri fuori programma hanno punteggiato la terza giornata di viaggio di Papa Francesco in Africa. Incontri riferiti dal portavoce vaticano, padre Federico Lombardi, nel consueto briefing serale. In mattinata, a Nairobi, un padre, accompagnato da suo figlio, che ha perso la moglie e la figlia durante l'attentato nel centro commerciale della capitale keniana di qualche mese fa. «Un gesto di vicinanza alle vittime della violenza», ha commentato Lombardi.
Dello stesso tenore anche la breve udienza a coloro che sono impegnati nella cura dei malati di Aids - piaga presente sia in Kenya che in Uganda - coordinati dalla comunità di Sant'Egidio. Nella State House di Entebbe si è svolto invece l'incontro in forma privata con il presidente del Sud Sudan. «L'intenzione del Papa - ha detto Lombardi - è stata quella di dare un messaggio di riconciliazione».
