The humanitarian crisis and political and social instability in South Sudan were at the center of the conversation between the Community of Sant'Egidio and a delegation of representatives from the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway and the European Union. Special envoys to South Sudan visited Sant'Egidio's headquarters in Rome on June 2, discussing the situation in the young African country.
The meeting was attended by Louis Bono, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy to the Holy See, Chris Trott and Sally Axworthy, British Ambassador to the Holy See, Irene Panozzo and Erling Skjønsberg respectively, representing the European Union and Norway.
