Adriana
Ciciliani
The difficulty in putting correctly the human figure in the picture's
space didn't represent a problem for Adriana, who, choosing as a
subject the opposition to death penalty, has made a very original work,
without any perspective rule. In the center of her composition
there is, behind the barbed wire, the frontal figure of a jew in a lager.
In his suffering face one can recognize every victim of the immense nazi's
cruelty, but also the symbol of every prisoner subject to unhuman
treatments or torture even today. Like in an icon, the small pictures
around the martyr-saint speak about the inhumanity of the death penalty.
The pictures down below, in bright colours, remind on the contrary
positive events like the happy release of Safiya, who was granted a pardon
in Nigeria some months ago. |
