The admission to a Home is an experience which even if only for a short period, marks the lives of many mentally impaired people. But for adults with a mental disability this choice is often necessary for lack of alternatives, either when there are no parents or when no other member of the family can look after them.

The presence of the Community of Sant� Egidio in the Homes for the disabled tries to provide a human touch and is a means of keeping their identity by helping them to remember a name, a story, family ties.

The Community tries to involve others, relations, staff, people who live in the area so that contact is not lost with the world outside.
