The Christmas Lunch
Christmas day, celebration day for everyone, is the saddest day of the year for people living on the street, who are alone, without family relationships. In fact, Christmas is the family celebration and those who have no-one, or have a faraway family suffer much more from the lack of family ties.
For these reasons, since 1982
the Community, which is the family of all and especially of the poor, wherever it has a centre celebrates Christmas together with those who have no-one.
The image of this great celebration, which remembers the Gospel banquet, is the image of the rebuilding of the human family around Jesus, where everyone is welcomed as brothers and sons. This is the image which we recall when we encounter and help everyone on the street.
