More than 1,000 young secondary school and university students coming from a number of Eastern European countries, are going to visit Auschwitz as pilgrims: this initiative "European Youth for a world without violence", promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio, is at its second edition.
After a year of constant preparation through lessons, conferences, exhibitions, videos across a vaste number opf schools all around Eastern Europe, the young people coming from Ukrain, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Italy, Germany and Georgia are going to gather in Krackow between next 9th and 11th September. The aim of the visit to one of the most significant historic places in Europe is to say no to any form of racism, anti-Semitism, anti-gipsy racism, that were lately revealed in some alarming episodes of violence. |
