Christmas with the Poor: there is more joy in giving...
Currently, the Communities of Sant’Egidio all over the world are preparing the Christmas lunch with the poor.
It is a tradition originally born in Rome, and now it reaches the entire world, gathering together, last year, more than 120.000 people in 70 countries.
We are inviting our friends to join us, so that Christmas 2011 can turn into the beginning of a new era for many people.

For Christmas, give a child sponsorship as a gift!
 In 2011, thanks to the generosity of many people, we opened a shelter home for children victims of the earthquake in Haiti. In Malawi and Mozambique we passed the line of 2000 children who now eat every day at one of our nutrition centres.
With Christmas, by putting a child sponsorship under the Christmas Tree, we can continue to support these programmes for children in the world.

The Recycled Toy Sale
 The Recycled Toy Sale is organised by the Land of the Rainbow to support solidarity programmes throughout the world.
Also this year, many cities in Italy and Europe, will host the Recycled Toy Sale to support the DREAM programme for the fight against AIDS in Africa.

With your help we can finance the full antiretroviral therapy for one patient for a year, a child can be born healthy even if his mother is seropositive, and we can help 1000 children receive a meal in our nutrition centres in Malawi and Mozambique.
