Two day to talk of human rights, respect of life, abolition of every kind of death penalty in Asia, the continent where the majority of countries still mantains capital sentence.
The Asia Pacific Conference, first pan-Asian gathering at this level, is about to start on Monday Oct. 27 in Manila upon the intiative of Sant'Egidio, Ministry of Justice of the Philippines and Muncipality of Mandaluyong.
Delegates of governments of 14 Asian countries will attend - among them India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia - together with the Bishops Conference of the Philippines, and more than 30 mayors of philippino cities who declared to be "Cities for Life".
The Conference is opening on Monday 27 at 15 pm (local time GMT 8). The conclusion will be a Public Ceremony in Greenfield Square in Manila. Read the programme
