President Fenech Adami will be leaving Malta for Cyprus on Sunday after having been invited by the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II and the Comunita’ di Sant’ Egidio.The president will be attending an international meeting for peace entitled : “The Civilisation of Peace : Faiths and Churches in Dialogue” organised jointly by the Church of Cyprus and the Comunita’ di Sant’ Egidio in Nicosia.
President Fenech Adami will be addressing the opening session of the meeting and will then participate in a panel discussion on xenophobia and philoxenia entitled “Welcoming the Stranger” on Monday.
While in Cyprus the President will be meeting the President of Cyprus, the Archbishop and former presidents Glafkos Clerides, George Vassiliou and Tassos Papadopoulos.
The President will return to Malta on Wednesday and Dr George Hyzler will be the Acting President during Dr Fenech Adami’s absence.
