After Easter, the Community of Sant'Egidio of Ouagadougou organised the celebration  of the Jubilee of Mercy with the passage of the Holy Door at the Yagma Sanctuary for the elderly of the "Delwende" Centre.

This centre has accommodated, for 50 years, old people victims of aggression due to accusations of witchcraft, which unfortunately are still frequent.

The Community regularly visits the guests of the centre, with whom a very close friendship has been born, and it is also committed to the search for new living situations for some of them. The fight against the accusations of witchcraft, which often generate lynchings and recently have also made victims among old people, not only in Burkina, is one of the priority commitments of Sant'Egidio with the elderly across Africa.
