Saturday the 20th September, a week after the International Meeting in Antwerp and in occasion of the anniversary of the terrible attack of Westgate in Nairobi, about 2000 students from 38 schools of Nakuru province gathered at Nakuru High school joining an ecumenical prayer for peace in the Spirit of Assisi, invited by the Community of Sant'Egidio.

Maurice Muhatia Makumba, bishop of Nakuru, and delegates of Anglican Church of Kenya and of the Presbiterian Church of East Africa also were present. At the end of the solemn ceremony, the religious representatives and a number of youth delegate of different schools and faiths lit the candles, then signed an appeal of peace.
