Today, at the end of the Angelus, Pope Benedict XVI addressed a delegation of the Community of Sant'Egidio, that was in Piazza san Pietro to receive his blessing.
The Pope spoke in French: "My special greetings goes to the people of the Community of Sant'Egidio who are reflecting on issues dealing with old age and aging.
On this Sunday we receive the mission to proclaim and prepare the coming of the Lord. He calls us to dismiss the habit of sadness and misery and to clothe ourselves of the glory of God. Following John the Baptist, may we allow God to speak to our heart. He speaks to us of justice inner freedom and true conversion. May the Virgin Mary, who has welcomed the brightness of the light of God, be for us a source of peace, of joy and of love!"
