On the eve of mid-August, the Community has organized a trip to Lahore for the elderly of the Institute of the Sisters of Charity of Yohannabad, where the Community goes regularly for many years. For some of them it was the first time they went out of the institute.

The day was beautiful and not so hot (summer is very hot in Pakistan, the temperature can reach 50 degrees).

The elderly were awaiting already in the early hours of the morning, happy to spend a day with friends and in the cool of the Community Renewal Center, a home for meetings on the outskirts of Lahore, with a beautiful garden full of trees.

After a good lunch, a party, a bit of cricket, singing and reciting poems. The day ended with prayer, in which older people have thanked the Lord for the Community of Sant'Egidio, which, in the difficult situation in Pakistan, has become close to their life.

Returning to the institute, despite the long day, the joy was clearly visible on all faces and they greeted one another with the promise to organize soon a new tour, perhaps to visit the beauties of the ancient city of Lahore.
