The Community of Sant'Egidio in the context of his mediation to achieve a peace agreement between the Government of Senegal and the Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance of  Salif Sadio, was informed by the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal that no arrest warrant exists against Salif Sadio.
After the start of the negotiations in Sant'Egidio in the month of October 2012, and the release of the 8 Senegalese military who had been taken prisoners by MFDC on December 9, 2012, the theme in question had been the subject of consultation between the parties concerned and the Community of Sant'Egidio.
The Community of Sant'Egidio sees this announcement as a further conciliatory step towards building a climate of trust between the conflicting parties, conducive to the return of peace.
