From 14 till 18 July, about 400 young people from Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Italy,the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Sweden gathered in the city of Krakow for their youth pilgrimage with Sant Egidio "For a world without racism and violence."
They studied the history of the Shoah and listened to testimonies of Jewish and gypsy survivors of the concentration camps.
On Monday 16 July, they visited Auschwitz and the extermination camp of Birkenau where they launched as a new European generation an appeal for their commitment for a future of peace and living together.
