Thursday, May 23. The children of the School of Peace of Catania with the Youth for Peace won the first literary prize "Ilaria and Lucy, for the affirmation of a life worth living," sponsored by the Foundation "Ilaria Favara and Lucia Messina "in memory of two students in December 2001 who, during a study stay in Paris, tragically lost their lives in a fire.

The award, now in its tenth year, stems from the testimony of generosity and friendship with many children of these young people. The winner of the first prize was a story of friendship written by the children of the School of Peace. In front of a large audience the children said that "the School of Peace is a special school for children all over the world. It 'a school where you don’t only study but you also learn that friendship is important because it makes you happy and not feel loney"

Finally, from the School of Peace came a plea: " you can all come to the School of Peace and together, with friendship, we can learn how to change the world."
