ANTWERPEN -"Deep sympathy and fraternal suffrage" for the barbaric murder of the three missionary nuns in Burundi was expressed by the President of the Community of Sant'Egidio, Marco Impagliazzo on behalf of all the participants in the International Meeting "Peace is the future" beingin held in Antwerp.
The sad news of the grief that struck the missionary Church was met with sorrow by conference attendees, who today were engaged in a round table on the theme of martyrdom in the present times. Among those who participate in the work in Antwerp also pastor Juvenal Nzosaba, Union of Baptist Churches of Burundi, the country in which the three Xaverian sisters carried out their mission.
"Today, as in the early years of Christianity – said Impagliazzo – the blood of the martyrs is the seed of love for humanity and brotherhood among all men. As we pray As we pray in suffrage for these sisters of ours we commit all of us, men and women of good will united in the service of peace, to raise their testimony, and to continue on the path that they have shown us.
