A letter From Malawi tells us the dramatic situation of the villages hitted by the flood.
Dear Friends,
I would like to update you on the situation of our children in Machinjiri. Due to the heavy rains a lot of children from our Feeding Centre were affected.
Most of the houses were severely damaged and families have been reallocated within Machinjiri though their new location/place where they are staying is not good at all. This is a situation the families have just accepted to the fact that they are desperate.
I visited some of the houses, i noted that many of our children have been affected and i just manage a number of houses up to the mountains od Ndilande that i could have managed due to distance. The attached photos are some of the houses for our children. In the coming days I will keep you updated with new photos because i understand that many of the children are in this condition as i have stated earlier.
The good news is that none of our children was hurt due the falling of the houses, all children are doing well.
Thank you very much for understanding our situation, i will you keep up dated, adding on that the situation of water at the centre is the same, and we are just hiring women to collect for us from Bore hole in the nearest villages.
