Memorial of Sant�Egidio, monk of the East who arrived in the West. He lived in France and became the father of many monks; he saved a deer from the arrow of the king, sign of the defense of the weak. The community of Sant�Egidio takes its name from the church dedicated to him. Today we recall the beginning of the Second World War. The Orthodox Church begins the liturgical year.
